The Semipalmated Plover is a small plover. Adults have dark-brown upperparts and white underparts. The back and wings are grey-brown and the breast is white. the neck is short with a black neckband. The forehead is white with a brown cap and
a black mask around the eyes. The bill is short and orange and black. The legs are long and yellow.
Semipalmated Plovers are migratory birds from the Arctic regions. They can be seen in groups foraging for food on sandy flats and shorelines, the borders water sources. They eat insects, crustaceans and worms.
