Rose-Ringed Parakeet

The Rose-Ringed Parakeet also known as the Ring-Necked Parakeet, is a medium-sized parrot. Both sexes are distinctive green overall. The adult male sports a red and black neck ring. The female and immature birds either show no neck rings, or have grey to dark grey neck rings.
Rose-Ringed Parakeets feed on fruits, nuts, berries, seeds and vegetables. They are a noisy species with an distinct and loud squawking call. Captive parakeets can be taught to speak. They have successfully adapted to living in disturbed habitats and they are a popular pet species.
