The Scaley-Naped Pigeon, or also known as the Red-Necked Pigeon, is a large pigeon. They are grey overall with a maroon coloured plumage around the neck that appears scaly. Their eyes are red with a bare patch of skin around them which is reddish in males and yellow in females. The base of the bill is red, while the tip is light coloured.
Scaly-Naped Pigeons are often seen alone or in small groups in trees or on the ground. They mainly feed on the fruits and seeds of trees. They often mix with other doves like the rock dove and Zenaida Dove. The nest is construct- ed mainly in trees. Females lay 1 or 2 eggs.
