The Great Southern White, also known as Pirpinto, is a medium sized butterfly. This is a common and widespread species occurring throughout the Caribbean. The Great Southern White Butterfly is a migrating species that moves in one direction within its life-span and does not return.
IDENTIFICATION: Adults are medium sized, white to pale yellow in colour, with brown markings around the edges of the wings. The caterpillar is green and often well camouflaged.
