ANARTIA JATROPHAE
The white peacock is a species of butterfly found
in open, moist areas such as edges of ponds and streams, along shallow ditches, weedy fields, parks. Males patrol and occasionally perch to find females. Eggs are laid singly near the host plant or under its leaves.

IDENTIFICATION: White in colour with brown and orange margins on the wings. The fore wing has a small black central spot and the hind wing has two small black spots and a short tail. Caterpillars are black with silver or white dots and branched spines. The chrysalis is light green with small black dots.
