ANASTREPHA FRATERCULUS
The South American fruit fly, is a fruit fly species from the genus Anastrepha. They attack many varieties of cultivated and wild cherries. When threatened, they turn their wings 90 degrees and move them up and down sideways. The larvae feed within the developing and ripening cherries, and make them unusable.

IDENTIFICATION: Anastrepha fraterculus is a small fruit fly. Its body colouration varies, from
orange, to brown and yellow. They have a unique pattern of black markings on the wings.
