Brown rat (Rattus norvegicus), also known as the Norway rat, common rat, or sewer rat.
Includes a robust body, a long snout, small ears that do not cover the eyes when pressed forward, and a thick, scaly tail that is shorter than its body length.
Brown rats are strong swimmers and extensive burrowers, typically nesting underground, unlike the black rat which is an agile climber.
They are common in urban areas and a wide variety of habitats across much of the world, often considered pests due to their adaptability and association with human activity.
