Pleurodonte isabella
The "Barbados Blue Land Snail" is scientifically named Pleurodonte isabella, an endemic land snail in Barbados that can have a blue, purple, orange, yellow, or brown shell. It is a herbivore that can grow up to 2 cm in diameter and lives in various habitats, but it faces threats from habitat loss due to human development and competition from the invasive Giant African Snail.

It is a small species of the genus Pleurodonte. Commonly known as the Barbados Blue Snail or Chocolate Snail.

It is endemic to Barbados and while it is called the "Barbados Blue Snail," its color can vary significantly and may be blue, purple, orange, yellow, or brown.

This species is widespread and abundant in its native habitat, which includes both natural and disturbed areas. It is a nocturnal, herbivorous snail that can occasionally be a pest on plants. It eats plant-based matter, including a variety of vegetables and leaves. It also needs calcium for shell health.

The Giant African Snail outcompetes the Barbados Blue Land Snail for food, posing a major threat.
