Hairy Parachute
Crinipellis scabella
Crinipellis scabella, or the Hairy Parachute mushroom, is a small fungus with a hairy, brownish or yellowish cap and a long, thin, fibrous, and hairy stem. It has a light cream-colored, slightly mushroomy smell and its flesh does not discolor when bruised. The mushroom grows on dead herbaceous stems or on litter in forests and grassy areas.
The cap is Bell-shaped to semicircular and the color is generally cream or light beige to yellowish-brown. It is densely covered in long, brown, bristle-like hairs called setiform. The size is 8–15 mm.
