The Caribbean grass mantis, is a species of praying mantis that mimics grass. Mantises are predatory insects and can be found in warm, dry fields and areas of rough grassland. The name Praying mantis is given for their prominent front legs, which are bent in a position that suggests prayer. They lie in ambush patiently stalking their prey, which they capture using their front legs.


Identification: They are thin and brown in colour, with a pair of large eyes on the sides of a flexible head and prominent front legs.
