Brahminy Blind Snake - Flowerpot Snake
Indotyphlops braminus
This snake is small, slender, and often mistaken for an earthworm due to its size and burrowing habits. It has tiny scales and eyes, unlike the segmented body of an earthworm.

It is widely known as the Brahminy blind snake, flowerpot snake, common blind snake, and island blind snake. The "flowerpot snake" name comes from its accidental introduction to various parts of the world through the plant trade, as it often hides in the soil of potted plants.

It is a fossorial (burrowing) reptile, spending most of its life underground. It feeds on ants and termites and helps maintain soil health.

This species is parthenogenetic, meaning all known specimens are female and reproduce without a male.

The Brahminy blind snake is non-venomous and harmless to humans.
