False Soldier Beetle
Omethes marginatus
False soldier beetles are soft-bodied, straight-sided beetles from the family Omethidae. They are rarely encountered and the biology of these beetles are relatively unknown. They can be found in woodland areas, fields, pastures, hedges and areas with grass.
Identification: Small and thin, around 1cm in length. The head and pronotum of this species are orange in colour with dark eyes. The elytra is brown with an orange line on the inside.
