The Helmeted Guineafowl is a gamebird from the guineafowl bird family, Numididae. It is native to Africa, but has been widely introduced domestically around the world. It is a large bird with a small unfeathered head and round body. The body plumage is gray-black, speckled with white. They make loud harsh calls (kuuuh-keeerk) when startled or disturbed.
