CASSIS TUBEROSA
The King helmet is a very large
sea snail in the family Cassidae.


IDENTIFICATION: Shell very
large, solid and heavy. It has
a short spire and is sculptured
with fine reticulated threads
and knobby projections on
the body whorl. The Parietal
shield is large and triangular in
shape. The outer lip contains
tooth-like projections. The
colour may vary from white-ish
to cream with irregular brown
zigzags marks.
