The Goliath Conch is a large
edible sea snail in the family
Strombidae.
IDENTIFICATION: The shell
is very large, heavy and sol
id, with a very wide flaring
and thick outer lip. The spire
is shorter and contains duller
spines than the queen conch.
The outer lip expands far be
yond the length of the spire.
The colour varies from light
brown to chestnut brown. The
aperture is tan in colour.
