The Queen Conch is an edible
sea snail in the family Strom
bidae .


IDENTIFICATION: The shell is
large, heavy and one of the
largest molluscs in the Carib
bean. The shell is spiralled and
may have numerous knobs. It
has a long pointed spire and a
flared lip. It is sculptured with
smooth spiral ribs. The colour
is cream or light brown, with
irregular patterns of darker
brown. The interior is pink.
