The Colourful Atlantic Moon
Snail is a sea snail in the family
Naticidae.
IDENTIFICATION: The shell is
thin-walled and globose, with a
short flattened spire and large
body whorl. The background
color is cream to white, with al
ternating reddish brown to yel
lowish bands with wavy, dark
brown patterns. The aperture is
wide and white in colour. The
operculum is semi-circular with
numerous strong grooves.
