The Atlantic Yellow Cowrie
is a sea snail from the family
Cypraeidae.


IDENTIFICATION: The shell
is smooth, shiny, elongated
and oval in shape. The co
lour is yellow and the under
side is white or yellowish. It
is covered in a line of fine,
raised dots. The cowrie’s
mantle, the soft tissue that
covers the shell, is usually a
pale yellow or beige color
with darker yellow spots.
