MONOPLEX NICOBARI-
The Nicobar Hairy Triton or
Goldmouth Triton, is a sea snail
in the family Cymatiidae.
IDENTIFICATION: The shell is
solid, with 5 or 6 whorls and a
medium sized spire. There are
two thick axial ridges on each
whorl. It has spiral ribs that
overlay the folds. This colour is
white to brown with spiral lines
of a darker brown. The aperture is bright white to orange.
The siphonal siphonal canal is
wide.
