The Dog Head Triton is a sea
snail in the family Cymatiidae.
IDENTIFICATION: The shell
is solid with a globular last
whorl with square whorl
shoulders. It has a relatively long siphonal canal. and
a thickened lip. The color is
chestnut-brown to orange,
with spiral ribs that are
sometimes white or a lighter
brown. The aperture is white.
