MONOPLEX PILEARIS
The Common Hairy Triton is
a predatory sea snail in the
family Cymatiidae.
IDENTIFICATION: The shell
is elongated with a tall
spire and a slightly inflated
body whorl. It is sculptured
with smooth axial ribs and
smaller fine spiral ribs. The
colour varies from chestnut
brown to dark brown, with
lighter brown spiral ribs. The
aperture is oval and contain
white teeth.
