METCALFA PRUINOSA
Flatid Planthoppers are a species of Planthoppers from the family Flatidae. Planthoppers are small insects with a remarkable resemblance to leaves and other plants in their environment. They often hop for quick traveling, similar to that of grasshoppers. Planthoppers feed on the sap of host plants and eject excess sugar in the form of honeydew.

IDENTIFICATION: Adults are usually whitish, sometimes turning light gray. They have large yellow to orange compound eyes, with a vertically flat body shape, giving a tent-like appearance.
