Why do frogs have two lives?

Frogs are known to have ‘two lives’ because they experience metamorphosis and change drastically from eggs to tadpoles, to adult frogs.

Most frogs lay gelatinous, clear eggs in pools of water. After one to three weeks, the eggs hatch into small, wriggling tadpoles which look more like fish than frogs:
