FAQ

How do you recognise an ant?

They have six legs, a large head, a smaller thorax, a cinched waist, and a long oval-shaped abdomen. Ants are characterised by antennae which form an angle, like an elbow, and two sets of jaws – a strong outside one for pinching, digging and picking stuff up in a similar way to hands, and a smaller one for munching on food.

Most ants are black, brown, red or yellow.
