GALLUS GALLUS DOMESTICUS
Feral Chickens or just known as Chickens are
a type of domesticated fowl. It is a subspecies of the Red Junglefowl, which originates from India. Chickens are perhaps the most widely domesticated fowl and are raised worldwide for their meat and eggs. Chickens have a squat and rounded appearance. Males are called roosters or cocks and females are called hens. They have fleshy combs, lobed wattles hanging below the bill, and high-arched tails. Each flock of chickens develop a social hierarchy that determines access to food, nesting sites, mates, and other resources. Chickens are omnivores. In the wild, they often scratch at the soil to search for seeds, insects and even animals as large as lizards.
