Gray Kingbird
TYRANNUS DOMINICENSIS
The gray kingbird is a passerine bird. It is an average-sized kingbird. The upperparts are gray, with brownish wings and tail, and the underparts are white with some gray on the chest. The bill and eyes are dark.
This tyrant flycatcher is found in trees and shrubs, including the edges of savannas and marshes. They like to wait on an exposed perch high in a tree, occasionally flying out to feed on insects, which is their preferred diet. Grey Kingbirds make a flimsy cup nest in a tree. Females typically lay 2 cream eggs, which are marked with reddish-brown. Their call is a loud rolling trill, pipiri pipiri.
