What Are Amphibians?

Amphibians are cold-blooded vertebrates (vertebrates have backbones) that don’t have scales. The word amphibian means two-lives. They live part of their lives in water and part on land.All amphibians begin their life in water with gills and tails.  As they grow, they develop lungs and legs for their life on land.
